Lego EV3 is Alive
While this item is now obsolete it is still used by schools for STEM education as as a volunteer for STEM education I purchased this kit to support schools with existing Lego EV3 kits. Has some good points with reliable sensors and powerful motors that can also be used as servos. Limitations are that it does not have reliable wifi or serial coms making it hard to interface with other sensors. Lego has replaced EV3 with a totally different architecture making no further upgrades possible. Still if you can get a second hand EV3 at a reasonable price it is still good value. There is alsao good support from Microsoft using Makecode for EV3.

Great Product
This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I bought it for my 10 year old grandson and he has had hours of fun with it. He was able to download free instructions from the Lego site for many different robots and had no trouble getting them to work. The programming is simple enough for him to be able to learn, but complex enough to allow him to do many things. I also purchased a seperate book on programming to give him some ideas and will purchase some extra sensors to expand the kit.
