In fact, DR's Pure Blues strings feature a round core, wrapped with a pure-nickel wrap wire. It's a slow and expensive string-making process, but it's one that results in a fabulous increase in sustain, enhanced vintage tone, and great low-end tone for everything from rhythm to lead. You'll also find that you get a surprising bit of punch from these vintage-styled DR Pure Blues strings. Gauges- .011, .014, .018, .028, .038, .050
