"Cordless has great distance a good feature"

As a portable wood cutting tool it was great, cuts quickly with the right kind of blade, and a newly charged battery. The Z means NO! battery so to test your tool you need to spend some more monies to see if the product you just bought will even work! So be aware!!

  • Top critical review

I’m hoping for the money, it turns out to be a good deal

The blade holder does not work properly, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t work properly, I’m hoping that it fixes itself, it was a brand new tool, it looks like it never had been used

  • Better than you might believe.

This unit I received shows no obvious sign of previous use. Yes, it is branded with an "R" for refurbished, but who cares? The saw works perfectly in every possible way it can be tested. This was a great opportunity to get into excellent equipment at a price that cannot be beat. What's not to like?

  • Just what I needed

Great product, easy to work with, cuts wood and metal easily, not too heavy. It is execllent solution for many of my hard metal and gardning jobs. One of the best tools I purchased.

  • Very pleased

Reciprocating saw is must for just about any project. This particular purchase I have been using to help clear land - cutting small trees and roots. I have a corded recipro saw that I have used for years that is very handy but limited by the length of my extension cords. Now I can go anywhere and not be hindered by the extension cord. This saw is extremely useful. I have cut limbs and trees up to about 4 inches thick along with cutting through buried roots. Very smooth, quick. and easy cuts.

  • Who needs a chainsaw?

Used exclusively for pruning. Pros: - Cuts anything with a diameter smaller than the pruning blade. - Lots of cuts with the 4Ah battery. Nonstop work for about 2 hours with 3 batteries. - With strong arms can be handled one handed -- useful when climbing trees or holding small diameters bushes - The chainsaw is now only for large diameter cuts (foot or more) Cons: - Buy expensive pruning blades ($10+ kind) or they will bend or break - It's my second one. The "quick release" for the blades jammed (after 4 years of use) and it's a jigsaw puzzle to reassemble. Careful when inserting and removing blades, keep everything free of debris. - Not as manly as wielding a smoke-belching chainsaw.

  • Makita recip

I have 18 18v Makita tools including drills, impacts, jig saw, multi tool, circular saw, angle impact, angle drill, heavy and light 1/2" impacts, hedge trimmer, vacuum cleaners, fans, dual battery chain saw, and recip saw. I first switched from dewalt and milwaukee 18v tools because of the constant dead battery problems, now I am still using 12 year old batteries with absolute confidence. I have more than 55 years of tool use and there is no other battery line that compares to Makita. I changed my original recip to this newer version so I could use the 40 and 50ah batteries, I use the saw frequently to trim palm trees while on a ladder works GREAT.

  • good saw

I have found all Makita power tools, corded or battery powered, to be a very good value. I was not disappointed when I received my saw. I had a 11 inch any wood blade in my shop and used it to cut down a 18 foot evergreen tree in my yard. The battery provided power for the entire job and I was out of range of my power for my corded saw. 2 thumbs up.

  • Great

I have had this for about 8 months now and have used it quite a bit. It is a great tool and I love not having to have a cord to try and not cut in half. It is powerful and runs a long time with a 3 AH hr battery that's 4 years old.

  • Can't go wrong.

I am a big fan of the Makita brushless tools. I joke saying ( this silly thing thinks it has a cord). This was a replacement for an earlier version that I simply worked to death. Makita makes very good tools. I have the other brands in some tools but for my money it is Makita.
