Excellent option for replacement of old tech fluorescent lamps
although this LED strip bar is positioned as a light that is suitable for extra light in situations like under a counter or cabinet - and there is no doubt that it would do very nicely for that - I was looking for a light strip to replace a fluorescent tube in a vintage beer sign and that is what I purchased it for. It is perfect for that application. Every bit as bright, if not brighter than a 15 or 20 watt fluorescent tube, it is super easy to install in place of those. The illustration shows exactly what you are getting and the LED tube replicates the light distribution of an old school fluorescent and is also more practical than some of the LED retrofit tubes, in that you are not running a ballast or a starter. Also super nice is the in-line on and off switch. Very convenient. Lastly, these will run for a much longer span of time than fluorescent tubes and you don't have to replace them anywhere near as frequently.
