These live performances have been preserved and released by SteepleChase on a series of albums. This particular LP features the great tenor with a rhythm section comprised of Europe's best (pianist Tete Montoliu, bassist Niels Pedersen and drummer Alex Riel) performing Dexter's "Cheese Cake," "Manha De Carnival" and "Second Balcony Jump." Gordon takes long solos that never seem to run out of ideas, making this set a valuable addition to his lengthy discography. ~ Scott Yanow
