Nice Switch!
I ordered one of these just to add an extra line for my home network since I had used up the ports on my Wireless Router. Having a budget, I didn't want to spend tons of money on something fancy or with more features than I needed. Researching network switches, I noticed many favorable reviews regarding this model and ordered one. Since I've been using TP-Link routers and switches for customer installs and my own network at home, I was confident I wouldn't be let down. Once the unit came, all I needed was a patch to my WiFi router, plug in the extra cable I needed to give my DVD player in the other room connectivity and give it power with the included adapter. Everything connected and worked fine within seconds. This little beauty is built solid with a metal enclosure and can be wall-mounted or just set on a shelf or other functional stand. It comes with rubber feet that you can put on so you don't scratch whatever you place it on. Easy to install and works well
I use this in a home network with 3 wired access points as well as 3 hard wired computers and many WiFi devices and it works well. It also alerted me to a defective CAT 6 cable when the status lights indicated that the particular run would fall back to 100GB. TP-Link 8 port metal clad switch projects a durable switch. While not a managed switch, it comes with web management. In this management, you must set an IP for this switch. While TL-SG108 is a 1 Gigabit rated switch, it's backplane (* I did not test this, instead rely on specs) under load falls significantly short.
