Buy verified Nikon batteries, not 3rd party substitutes

Bought this to replace a 3rd party equivalent that simply died during a shoot. That non-Nikon batter would take a charge, but thereafter, after only a few shots, the camera simply went dead. Fortunately I still had the original battery that came with the D300 in 2009. After all these years, it still performs well. In fact, on one trip, before I got a replacement for the spare, having forgot my charger at home on a week-long trip, it went three days (daylight, not often using fill from integral flash) on that single charge, shooting maybe two to three hours a day. It was amazing. You can bet the replacement is another Nikon OEM battery. ... That D300 is my workhorse camera for use in dusty, construction-site shoots. But I also have a D700 and D200 (both use same battery). While I don't use the D200 anymore and haven't for a few years, I never needed to buy a replacement battery for it. Same battery it came with is still the one the kids use in it. The D700 I should have learned my lesson. Bought a couple non-Nikon batteries for it back in the day that frizzled within the first year I used them. I may sound like a slow learner, but I've learned my lesson: genuine Nikon batteries only. (In fact, I found a 3rd party EN-EL3e in my drawer earlier this week while cleaning. I didn't bother to test it; I just chucked it. (Probably not environmentally kosher but... I was disgusted when I saw it and might have been a environmentally incompatible mood at the time).

The battery dead after two months of using

After two months of moderate using of this battery in my Nikon D200, it starts to be empty even after fully charged. I meter its voltage after full charge - it is 8.4V. I try to discharge it with my IMAX to 6V and to re-charge it again - but after fully charged it still discovered as totally empty in both of my cameras. So I could assume the problem is with controller of the battery. That is my experience with this item. UPD: I solve this problem connecting middle contact with "+" (or "-", sorry did not remember), meaning it will reboot the controller of the battery. And now is works fine, and its capacity is better than my old Nikon or Acme batteries. Btw, I take a look inside one of my old broken Nikon batteries - inside the are two 18500 lithium 3.7 batteries in parallel.

  • Good battery third of the price

Used genuine Nikon battery has lots of life left in it. New one costs three times as much as I paid for this one. I'll probably get another one for a total of four. Can't have too much juice but you can have too little. KEH are my go to people for great deals. I seem to get more shots with the Nikon batteries than aftermarket ones. One in the body and one in the grip and I am good to go. Keep on trippin the shutter people. Thats all the news thats fit to print. I'm outta here.

  • Great Price for A Great Battery

I looked all over and this was the best price for these batteries in North America. I had some fade on me and needed replacement for those 11 year old batteries so found these and they fit the bill perfectly. Like the title says it is a official Nikon made battery at a great price I’ll be back to shop here in the near future.

  • Quality replacement, at a good price.

The batteries work in my D70, and D80 IR converted cameras. The one item I would warn someone of, is the batteries only have two contacts and the D80 batteries have 3 contact. It still works, I believe it has to do with the communication with the camera.

  • Nikon EN-EL3e NIkon Battery

I bought two batteries to power my D-200 power grip. The batteries appear to be genuine Nikon as they have the gold Nikon logo. There were no scratches on the battery contacts or any other signs of use. Both charged up promptly and have been in use since with no problem. I am happy with the purchase.

  • OEM Only For This Demanding Photographer

Using batteries for long exposures and time-lapse photography, I need the longest lasting batts I can get. The OEM Nikon EN-EL3e fit the bill!

  • Nikon EN-EL3e battery

I bought this battery to use at an outdoor wedding shoot. I shot 350+ images (many with fill flash), and the battery lasted most of the wedding. I opted to buy name brand Nikon because I had heard of issues with using cheap after market rechargeable batteries and didn't want to chance it. I was pleased with the performance and would recommend.

  • So happy with the first two that I bought two more!

These batteries have not let me down! I bought the first pair over five yeas ago as backup power for my Nikon D200 batteries; they worked so well that when I bought an additional camera I ordered two more batteries as backups for it. They arrived with a pretty good charge but I followed the directions that came with the batteries and charged them before using them. They were very compatible with my Nikon equipment. I will say that if you are looking for a good value and dependable, long lasting battery, you should think about giving these workhorses a try!

  • Great Batteries

Have used only one of the two so far. I have received standard battery usage and shots with this battery. So, items live up to their description, what else could one ask for?
