Great monitor
I had a 19 inch monitor as part of my set up but recently moved into a role and got given a laptop. When I'm office based I prefer to use a monitor screen rather than the laptop. This screen is fantastic, bright and clear. Plus it's 27 inch in size which is a vast improvement from what I had. It means I can see more data and code on the screen. Great monitor, good make, menu buttons confusing.
Iv'e had my Asus VE278H monitor for about 18 months now, and it's been great. It came in a well designed box with plenty of decent foam cushioning. Plug and play. No dead pixels on arrival. I would say it's very robust for a monitor, having survived falling to the floor, a two and a half foot drop with no damage!! Phew. I will say this though, the menu buttons are confusing. Not the menu it's self, but the buttons. I have it set up how i want it now, and haven't touched the menu in months. I dare say you could find a tutorial on YouTube if you really wanted to get into it. I use this monitor for general computing stuff, as well as movies and gaming. It's a good gaming monitor. I don't notice any latency at all. It's also great for watching movies, although if you're looking for black blacks, you'll need to step up to an OLED display. It also has several different viewing modes that you don't have to access the menu for. Great monitor.
Brilliant visuals and 2 HDMI sockets that mean no extra cables to get the onboard speakers working. They also give vert decent sound. One very minor niggle is the positioning of the headphone sockets on the back of the monitor. I am about at night a lot and therefore use headphones a lot and it is a bit fiddly getting the cable in as you can';t easily see the socket. I am actually using the product to write my review & I cannot fault it. Was excellent value for the money & does exactly what it says on the tin. The only thing I found to be slightly irritating was the on off switch is on the underside with no light displaying on the front panel to let u know when its switched on ( or not).
