The G25 utility club is closer in design to the Ping Anser hybrid golf club. In many ways, the design is more reminiscent of a fairway wood or even a driver. Ping first launched this updated model in early 2013, so its design reflects contemporary trends. The origins of the company are traced to the ingenious putter designs of founder Karsten Solheim, a former engineer at General Electric. The company is now well-known for its hybrid golf clubs. His original Anser putter arrived on the golfing scene in 1959. This club was designed with both professionals and novice golfers in mind. These versatile hybrid golf clubs are made with a 17-4 stainless steel head that ensures a strong launch. They also provide more control of your stroke with every swing you take. The squared-off profile means more hitting area in both the toe and heel areas.The forgiving face of the design promotes straight shots rather than those worked to the left or the right. Trajectories are lower than those provided by some other hybrids like the Ping G20. The advantage is that you enjoy a lower arc that is ideal for hitting golf balls into the wind, and the versatility of a hybrid while maintaining much of the distance you ordinarily get from your driver.Ping employs an ingenious variable thickness face that improves energy transfer. The result is increased golf ball velocity and improved distance. The center of gravity is shifted low and toward the back of the head. The classic matte-black finish gives this club a timeless look. It also keeps distracting reflections to an absolute minimum.Although many hybrids target mid handicappers and above, the G25 suits many players with single-digit handicaps as well. Depending on the exact loft of your G25, this classic Ping design replaces certain fairway woods and long irons in your golf bag. The stainless-steel head is mated to a graphite shaft. There are five different flexes. Among them are the 73-gram soft regular, 76-gram regular, 77-gram stiff, 82-gram tour stiff, and 87-gram tour x-stiff. It was originally sold new with its own branded head cover. With any one of these finely crafted golf clubs in your hands, you find a variety of ways to lower your handicap. Hit it straight and solid off the tee when you need to thread your drive on a narrow hole. Use it to get the ball airborne out of a tight lie in heavy rough. I have the Ping G25 driver and it is the best driver I have every owned. The clubs I purchased are G25 hybrids (3,4). I haven't given them a 2nd chance yet but my initial thought is disappointment considering how much I like the driver. My issue is that I am hitting low draw/hooks. I was expecting a lot more height.
