Truly plug and play replacement for a long LAN cable. Wireless streaming of HD from a router 50 feet away just doesn't work, yet I have managed to toast two Netgear routers during lighting storms while using a long LAN cable. This optical link is as fast and reliable as a LAN cable yet the optical cable is impervious to EMPs and ground spike surges.
