Truly plug and play replacement for a long LAN cable. Wireless streaming of HD from a router 50 feet away just doesn't work, yet I have managed to toast two Netgear routers during lighting storms while using a long LAN cable. This optical link is as fast and reliable as a LAN cable yet the optical cable is impervious to EMPs and ground spike surges. This product is cost effective and includes everything you need except the LC optical cable easily acquired. It worked right out of the box with no setup. necessary.
