Works well and doesn't have any unnessarily easy to lose cables.
PCMCIA cards were a unique thing back in the 90s and early 2000s. When a laptop needed an upgrade it can be supplemented by the use of slightly thicker than credit card sized expansion cards. There are a few different types of cards and slots and notably some very older versions of the PCMCIA slot do not support this particular card.
Many cards tend to have cables and other components that if lost are not easily replaced. This particular card has all three ports built into the card and makes it look nice in the side of my older ThinkPad. It's primarily for old gaming usage but I've got one of these in a slightly newer laptop that lacks an Ethernet port.
Bear in mind there are both 16-bit and 32-bit versions of this card. The latter has gold contacts on the top while the former is grey.
