Works great for my sneaky cat!
It is a bit expensive, however it works. Some cats may adapt to it, but it works great for my cat. Sometimes it will not activate immediately, but when you (or the cat) least expect it, it will spray. I knew it would work for my cat because I used a can of air to startle him off my puzzle table. He hasn't been on it since! I use this on my kitchen counter at night or when I leave the house since that is when he jumps up. I plan to purchase an additional one to hide near a door he likes to sharpen his claws on! Keeps my desk free of cat hair
We have 3 of these, for 2 different areas. One of the two I bought on Ebay have developed some kind of blockage, little air comes out (the can is full). But the other two work great and our cat stays well away. Due to blockage on one I am rating low on quality. Bad Kitty
As my cat has gotten older, he has become very stubborn. He now jumps up onto the counters in the kitchen. I love my cat, but I will not tolerate cat fur in my kitchen. Now when he jumps onto the counters, the Scat releases a spray of air that startles him. I have used this product at the entry to the kitchen and it worked well there also. Effective and safe
The SSSCAT Deterrent spray has worked well keeping the cats away from our door at night. There are times when it doesn't go off if a cat runs by it quickly, but they are learning to avoid our bedroom at night. It works but goes through propellant too fast
I only gave it 3 stars because even at the least sensitive setting, it is overly sensitive to human movement rather than animal movements. We have had it less than a week I believe and are already to through the first can of air propellant. It does work though but I have to buy more air and move it to a different location to keep the animals off another piece of furniture or counter, while hoping they don't go back to spraying on the first area.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works to keep cats off of stuff like counters, or tables. I think it would be somewhat less effective on the floor, getting in your way.
I use it to keep cats off a specific area, my stove top. And it works. Beware this thing is a heat sensor, not a motion sensor. Thus I have to turn it off when I am using the stove till the burners etc. cool down. I had an old version of this that was blue and beeped as well as sprayed. IT could condition the cats to flee when it beeped only, to save propellant. However eventually that one quit working and it is not repairable being that the electronics are tiny and inaccessible. This one is working fine just spraying the compressed air. You can cheat and buy some brands of compressed air cans and remove the plastic tops for this to attach to. That is up to you and the makers cans always work with this, if more expensive. It is an effective deterrent but not over a huge area, like a real long counter top. But you can move it around and keep the cats in doubt as further deterrent. Pointing away towards the back so you don't set it off. Works On Humans Not Cats
My cat (full grown adult) has walked past the unit many many times without it going off. I have moved it, turned it, changed the position on the unit, and placed it on the floor in front the open bookcase I'm trying to protect. It never goes off. On the other hand the humans it the house set the darn thing off every time! Don't waist your money. AMAZINGLY EFFECTIVE!
I have a 6 month old kitten who likes to romp at 5:00 a.m. He sleeps fine through the night but every morning at 5:00 a.m. he's ready to play and jumps all over me. I have shut him out of my bedroom only to have him recently cry at the door. He was becoming unrelenting. After weeks of losing sleep I was desperate to find something to stop his crying. I set this outside the bedroom door and it has stopped his crying immediately! Unbelievably and amazingly effective! Would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend! If you are trying to stop a behavior jumping on counters, crying at the bedroom door this is hands down the BEST thing I've ever found! It does make a sound similar to a cat hissing and sprays air both of which the cat doesn't like. It doesn't go off unless there is something within 3 ft of it. I've read some reviews that say it's too sensitive. I suspect it's probably in a high traffic area with cats and people. You have to set it far enough away so as to not trigger it repeatedly but close enough to the area you want the cat to stay away from, within a 3 foot range. The good thing is after a few weeks or months the cat will be conditioned to stay away and won't have to be used at some point, cats are very much creatures of routine. So in my opinion it was well worth the cost of finally getting a good night's sleep! My vats walk past it and it rarely goes off
