It had so much potential...
I bought this product due to my towel not drying properly in my unit en-suite bathroom. It was easier to get a free standing one than to have a wall mounted rack installed. Here's what I like about the Freestanding Devanti Electric Heated Towel Rail Rack - - The size is perfect for my small en-suite bathroom - I'm happy with the quality. It looks good and is sturdy. Here's what I'm disappointed about - - It doesn't dry my towel well enough. I don't have big, heavy towels. My bath towels are regular size and light. The rack definitely heats up and is very hot to touch, but I literally have to wrap my towel through each of the rungs to get any kind of benefit. I feel now that the rungs may just be too small to be of benefit because it is definitely hot enough. - It needs to be turned on for too long for any benefit. It heats up quickly, but again, it doesn't really achieve what I was looking for... to simply throw one towel over it to dry after a shower in a reasonable amount of time. I feel now I would be better off using the dryer. - I need to fold my towel for it to fit, which wouldn't be an issue if it would dry properly, even if I had to turn it over. - The power cord is ridiculously short. The instructions state that it isn't to be used with an extension cord and to not place the rack directly under a power point. I agree with not placing the unit under a power point, but otherwise it's pretty much impossible to use without an extension cord.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fast warm up - bit too small
Power cord is way too short to reach any powerpoint. Whole stand is too short to put any more than 2 towels on it as they end up on the ground. The photo in the advertisement is deceiving as they've used a very small towel. Not wide enough for any decent bath towels either as they have to be folded meaning they don't dry fully unless on for a decent amount of time. It does heat quickly though and makes the middle of the towel warm. Ours stopped working though exactly 1 year to the day we purchased it. Really happy with this item. It works perfectly to dry towels and I’m really glad I bought it. Size is good and it’s easy to move if needed. Nice Heated Towel
Tested at 100 watt on meter. Just right... too hot to hold hand against. Aluminium finish is nice. Well made. AC cord is too short to plug into countertop outlet while standing on floor legs. Have to fold bath towel in half to fit on rack. I plug into timer so that costs are reduced. Would like to modify & hang on back of door from doors top edge. Also would be great with a 1 to 4hr switch off timer built in. Only used in winter so I remove screws on feet to store away.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cord is too short for Australian use.
Let's face it, this item is suppose to be used in bathrooms. The cord is so short that when standing on the ground even directly under the plug point, it is still too short to reach any legal height for plugs in wet areas. The only way to make it reach would be to use an extension which in turn would make this a huge safety risk. Subpar design
the electric cord too short so it is hard to reach the wall power point . The rack has 6 aluminum bar are hot and dry the bath towel OK but its design not wrap or heat the bath towel real warm enough so that you feel good warm to use after a shower . In winter , the day no sun to hang and dry your bath towel outside then this electric heated warm towel rail would help. its design need to improve or the benefit not good enough to buy it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It works
The product is as described online and while 3 minute warm towels is not quite true it does work. I personally would've liked a wider one as we have to fold the towels which make them harder to dry. I would also like to see it a bit higher as with any more than two towels they would touch the floor. A bit flimsy, but ok
I've said it's good quality, but what I'd like to have had a choice of is "ok quality", it's not really good, but it's not poor either. It's quite flimsy and it doesn't look it in the advert, so I'm a bit disappointed. Yes, it does heat up fairly quickly, but not in 3 minutes as stated.
