Quiet and powerful--3-4 times the cost of cheap hair dryers. Worth every penny.
There are some cheap things in life that are perfectly good. Other things, it's worth paying more for. Hair dryers are in the latter category. For years, we've bought the $15-30 hair dryers at Walmart, and they would get hot, and blow (more or less)...and they have short cords, are really loud, and clog up quickly. Given low air volume and their loud, shrill whine, I have longed for a quiet, powerful hair dryer for years. And I'm a guy. I can only imagine what my wife (and the other women in my life) feel about it.
Finally, I stopped being lazy, did a little research, and discovered the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium. It's expensive, but it's a revelation as to what a well-engineered hair dryer can be. Quiet AND powerful, three heat settings, an 8 or 9-foot cord. Sadly, I was using mine to warm the bathroom one day before my wife took a shower, and it fell off the counter and (most likely) broke the heating coil. After a couple days of the old eardrum-splitting shriek of the cheaper hair dryer, I ordered a damaged box BaByliss Pro Nano replacement from ebay--new, this hair dryer typically retails at $80-100, and this ebay option was slightly lower--and we're back to quiet, powerful, reliable hair drying.
Yes, it's 3-4 times the cost of a typical hair dryer. And worth every penny.
