    Good lock....kinda fits?

    So I like this as a lock for those Ford Ranger tailgates. If you have an OEM tail gate you probably will not have to mod the sheet metal around the lock cylinder itself. We are using one of those reproduction tail gates in a Smyth Truck build so we did have to use a body saw to open up more of the sheet metal around the cylinder to make it work.... Not a problem for us but it could be a problem for a novice installer....

    Overpriced compared to other types of locks

    It tends to stick when using the key. I thought the price was fairly highly priced for the product. I would expect approximately $25-$30 range. I purchased it because I could find an alternative that would fit my truck.

    More effort should go into making this item better Unfortunately this is the only product available for my truck at this time so I am going to try to

    Installation is easy but does not engage handle properly also key will not turn fully when installed Thinking I have some grinding to do to the locking arm before it will work properly. I should have read more reviews before I purchased this item seems like others are having similar problems .Unfortunately this is the only product available for my truck at this time so I am going to try to make the best of it and make it work to fit my needs

    Hard to install

    Seemed to be a lot more money than what it should have been but I needed something to lock my bed. I installed it following the instructions and a YouTube video and it seemed to go well but when I tried to lock it, it wouldn't lock. I took it off and re-installed it numerous times and finally got it to work. Not sure how long it will last though.

    not very good at all.

    the clasp doesn't open and shut easily at all. it has to go into the groove and stay there which it doesn't do regularly. so I can't lock it all the time. its cheap as far as that is concerned. so if it doesn't lock it really isn't a lock at all.

    Does Not Fit 2010 Ford Ranger

    Does not work on a 2010 Ford Ranger! I even bought a new tailgate handle and it does not work on it either. The newer style cam on it does not fit the handle slot like the old gold colored one did that used to come with the PL2310 in previous years..

    Only lock for 03 Ranger

    I have the plastic handle and it feels flimsy. Putting on was a little tricky. It fit ok just had to file a little off to make room for the locking mechanism. It wasent required but it functioned a lot smoother.After the installation of lock it works and locks like factory.

    Do not believe this advertisement.

    The lock was sold as good on my vehicle. It does not fit. I have a 2005 Ford Ranger. Unfortunately, I threw packaging material away before checking for fit. I wasted more than $55. Not happy!
