Cheaper than a tyre
I purchased this device for my bush basher after I fitted new tyres as I have a habit of destroying tyres before becoming aware they are flat
1. The device was easier to install than expected as the tyre sensors were labelled and they had already been configured in the display unit. I had to set up the maximum/minimum pressure and high temperature alarms, but I can't recall how and I fix those values next wheel alignment. I'll also check how to use the device to optimise tyre pressures (something about 5kPa/5 degreeC - too low=hot tyres, too high=cold tyres)
2. The sensors replace the wheel caps with nuts to lock them in place. Each sensor is labelled for a specific tyre location, although the device can theoretically be programmed to accept replacement sensors. It took about 30km after the initial installation for the sensors to give sensible readings but readings since have been consistent. I gave 4 stars because I have not checked the accuracy of the sensors, but it is certainly good enough for my needs.
3. I mounted the display on the steering column ignoring the recommendations in the instructions but it works fine. The display somehow knows when to shut down, it lights up when the ignition is turned on, and displays tyre pressures etc when the engine starts
I haven't had a flat yet, yet the display has emitted an alarm on one occasion as a tyre was sliding down the side of a rock (or was it a sharp rock?) although there did not appear to be any significant loss in pressure.
If it saves me from destroying a tyre following a puncture, then it will have more than paid for itself (and this includes the premium I paid to get it from a local supplier).
