Product Information
"Hang on to your diapies, babies!" Those irascible youngsters are heading out on their first game for the Nintendo 64, one that involves going on a scavenger hunt of epic proportions. Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt consists of three distinct board games that will have players moving around a 3D world trying to locate missing objects.

In Angelica's Temple of Gloom, players are forced to find the shattered pieces of Stu's Aztec statues before nosey Angelica gets her greedy little mitts on them. The Pirate Treasure Hunt, on the other hand, has the babies traveling underwater as they search the depths for buried treasure. Last but not least is the Reptar Rally, where players can collect sweets as they move around Candy Island.

Up to four "babies" can alternate turns on their choice of board size (small, medium or large). Each game differs in the length of time it takes to play, with the one-player game on a small board taking approximately twenty minutes to complete.

After choosing one of four characters (Tommy, Chuckie, Phil or Lil), players must activate the spinner to determine how many spaces their character will move along the board. While movement is confined to one direction at the beginning of each game, players can eventually find a compass that will let them move anywhere on the board. There are also a number of items found on certain spaces that can influence play.

Players may run into Spike the dog on one of the spaces, which means the lucky baby can ride the animal up to a maximum of five spaces. Each character also has a limited amount of energy during the game, represented by the letters "Zzzz." Since each move takes one "Zzzz" from the baby, you will be forced to take a nap (in the crib room, of course) whenever the meter reaches zero.

Other squares will have your character gaining or losing cookies (each character begins the game with ten cookies, which are used to distract Angelica), or let you search certain objects in the room for hidden items. Players can also collect Toy Cards to use against their friends or open doors to new locations by landing on the appropriate space. There is even a Dil square that will trigger young Dil to come out of hiding and shuffle all of the squares on the board!

While some of the Toy Cards are game-specific, most involve moving babies to certain spaces, sending babies to other rooms or even transforming them into the mighty Reptar for a turn! Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt lets players view their Toy Cards and collected items at any time by pausing the game, and young explorers can also save their progress by pressing the Start button. A Controller Pak is not needed to save game information, however, as the 128-Meg cartridge automatically stores one game in memory.Product Identifiers
