It's hard to go past a good old fashioned toastie, jaffle or whatever you want to call them and even harder to imagine how the old classic snack could be improved upon. Well, Sunbeam seem to have managed to do exactly that, improve on the classic! The extra deep chambers now gives plenty of room to cram loads more of what your tastebuds desire most and serve brillantly for very saucy fillings. Extra wide rim allows you to use extra large cafe style slices if you wish, but it also works fantastically with pastry. Imagine apple, custard ... yes, that's right, custard ... a little cinnamon wrapped up in a beautifully toasted all butter puff pastry shell. Well if you don't have one of these, imagining is all you will be able to do. However, if you're fortunate enough to have one of these little babies tucked away, then no need to imagine at all because you can taste the delicious reality of just that and plenty more! Super easy to use, super easy to clean and super easy to store. Think of this product as the missing link between the pie maker and the old jaffle maker, it looks like a sandwich, but eats like a well filled pie. Good product. (Not bad, Not excellent). Looks good. Decent build quality, not heavy or light. Heats up fast. Holds more than expected fillings - this is really its strongest point. Lots of nooks for cheese, etc to stick, but the non-stick coating seems to be of decent quality to help to counter this. It is hard to get too excited over a toastie maker, but it is probably the best toastie maker on the Aussie market in 2018, from my research. Looks good on the kitchen bench but doesn’t take up too much room which is important if you don’t have a lot of bench space . Deep dishes hold a good amount of filling for your choice of sandwich. Easy to use and clean, just wipe with a damp cloth after use . This small appliance gets a lot of use in my house!! The best non-stick surface
I have had another well-known branded sandwich maker which was difficult to clean especially when food matter was on the sandwich maker's surface. It was a real effort to completely clean. With the Sunbeam, I make a sandwich with filling. When the 'toasting' process is complete, there was no problem removing the food matter that was on the heating surface.
