Very quiet unit
It is a newer brand to the old originals and we would expect to get another 15 years which will outlive the van itself. The only con is that it is made to fit newer vans and took a little adjustment to the hoses for them to reach and attach to ours but we got there without too much problem. Shurflo 4009 water pump faults
Shurflo normally produce excellent pumps. However I've had three of this model in the last couple of years. Two leaked internally and completely seized up. The last one had the positive wire crimped into the motor backing plate and was severed completely. Don't know if this one will also leak as its just been installed, after I fixed the break in the wire. I have suggested to the manufacturers they look at their Quality procedures, but didn't get a response and didn't expect one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quiet operation, low power consumption
This has to be the top end of quality for these type of pumps. They are so quiet that the only way you can tell they are running is if you are within a meter of it. Low power consumption is a critical factor for us and this pump only draws around 48 watts during operation,, this is perfect for the small battery we have it connected to. Regardless of the speculations, ours is drawing water from 3 meters below the pump level and pushing it approximately 2 meters above, all through a 12mm / 1/2” hose.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

SHURFLO 4009 12V WATER PUMP
This pump was purchased to replace one that was 15 years old and this was only being renewed due to it being left on for a day running dry. It still works but at such a reasonable cost to update why take the risk of it failing and spoiling a trip. The new one has slightly different mounting holes and required longer mounting bolts but there were no issues fitting and wiring it in place. I can't believe how quiet it is and doesn't seem to pulsate when taps are just slightly opened Very glad we decided to go thie way.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quality and reliability that I know I can trust
Great Pump easy to set up as a transfer pump from a water bladder set up in my F250 to transfer water to my caravan tanks. It is the same make and type that I use in my van for shower and general water use. Been in my van for 10 years now, no problems in all that time. Good pressure and Quiet

Great product. Excellent flow and pressure. We used it camping including with a Coleman hot water on demand.
