great for kayaks

DONT BUY FOR SALT WATER or if you live near the OCEAN.
Every metal part is rusting and it's only been in the salt water 3 times and was hosed off at the end of the day. The nut on the end of the shaft looks so bad I doubt it will come off if I need to change the prop. Had to buy a new clamp nut bolt assembly from the local bolt shop. Other one was too rusted. Of course there are not many metal parts showing. 2 clamps on the shaft, 2 that clamp it to the boat. The nut on the motor prop shaft. But all were and are rusting. Other than that it works. But there is no way to turn it off. Once the battery is connected it lights up and stays that way. Bit annoying.

Started to rust after few usage
The motor is good, but metal clams and parts are made from corrosive metal. After 4-5 use in salt water they started to rust heavily, especially clams. I washed them with tap water after every use, however they got rusted anyways.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
