About this product

Product Information

The Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Telephoto Zoom Lens is a long-reaching zoom lens that provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 88-400mm covering portrait-length to telephoto perspectives to suit working with distant subject matter. Greatly benefitting this lens' reach is the incorporation of image stabilization which works to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 3.5 shutter speed steps to support handheld use in low-light conditions.

    Canon 55- 250.mm STM LENS

Wow one thing shipping was super fast and packed very safe in the box .. FIRST THOUGHTS OF THE LENS IT BETTER WORK GOOD LOL Well its AWESOME ! Just the right kind of lens i was looking for .. I was glad i went with this lens then the 70- 300 .. a lot of people said get the Ef- S stm lens it will be much better u may lose a little range but the quality is much better with the 55- 250.mm and they were right about it .. The Auto focus works super nice and quite.. I also use the Manual setting . But wanted to test out the auto focus as well .. u can get some realy good distance with ... I wanted this lens for nature and birds .. and most of all when im at the beach surfing.. My Girlfriend will have no problem snapping pictures of me now lol ... OVER ALL THE LENS WORKS AWESOME BEST $140.00 I EVER SPENT .. I EVENT TESTED IT IN LOW LIGHT ABOUT A HALF HOUR BEFORE THE SUN WENT DOWN .. STILL LOOKING GOOD ... THE LENS IS ON MY " Canon Rebel t6i " Also know as the 750D .. hope this review helps some one that want a 55- 250mm lens

Great value for the price, one of the best telephotos for under $1000

Great starter wildlife photography lens. Auto focus is pretty intuitive and the focus is sharp. If you are walking with your camera on your neck the lens has a tendency to 'slip' down and extend but other than that is is a solid construction.

  • Would recommend if on budget

Best telephoto lens for a budget. I used it with my Canon eos r10 and managed to get great shots. In daylight, photos are sharp and autofocus is excellent. However, dont expect good lowlight results. Around sunset it can be verry difficult to avoid noisy or blurry images. My biggest complaint however, is that when I received the lens, some of the pins must have been damaged since whenever I take photos at the lowest aperture, I receive an unavoidable pop up warning. Other than that though, this lens has been the best investment in camera gear i’ve made since buying a canon ef 50mm lens.

  • Nice lens-covers a good range

I purchased this lens to go with my new Canon Rebel T5 dslr for nature photography etc. I just wish it was a 300mm or better but with a 2X teleconverter it will supply my needs until I can get a larger magnification! The image stab. and auto focus is a nice feature to have since I am 71 years old and my eyes aren't what they use to be! I've gotten some nice pictures of squirrels, butterfly and flowers so far. The zoom is smooth and the auto focus is fast and am well pleased with this lens! Unlike some zoom lens, there seems to be very little image sharpness loss on the edges like some other lens I have had! All in all, I would recommend this lens to a friend!

  • My review of the Canon EF-S 55-250mm Zoom Lens

This lens is great for rapid deployable use, owing to it's light weight and very useful focus lengths! Also my Canon EF-S 55-250 achieves good results when used on my Canon 60D, Elan II-7E, and on my Rebel T-3. For the money this lens is a dragon slayer! That is to say it performs well against other more costly lenses. The EF-S 55-250 with it's f-stop range of 4-5.6 is not in league with Canon's L series line but, then you don't pay six to ten times more for this otherwise fine product. My five stars factor the low cost of ownership.

  • Fine lens to start with

Great entry-level lens. Keep in mind that this is the stock one that cameras usually come with. They do a basic zoom, basic macro, basic everything. It's a great "use for everything" lens when you don't know what you're getting yourself into. I usually keep it on my camera unless I'm doing something very specific at which point I switch, I mostly use it for Car Show's, works very well

  • Great every day lens

Great lens for APS-C Canon Rebel T6 (and all other APS-C Canon's) lots of reach and the image stabilization let's you handhold way down to 1/60 frequently. Much better than I thought it would be. Approximates 400 mm at the long end and 90mm on the short end in FF equivalence. Telephoto effect will blur out background better than f2.8 in some shots. Light and easy to take along, leave the tripod at home, this lens and a wide zoom are all you need for just about every well lit situation. 35mm f2 (50mm equiv. ) If you need low light capability.

  • Fast, accurate, affordable.

I am thrilled with my new EF-S 55-250 STM lens. After a recent purchase of a Canon Rebel SL1, I wanted to also update my lenses. This replacement lens has given me excellent results. The lens (and camera) are so much faster than my old lens when it comes to auto-focus and results. I haven't tried this lens indoors yet, but my experience outside has been fantastic. If you have a newer camera that utilizes the STM lens, this is a must have in your gadget bag.

  • Canon EFS 55-250mm Image Stabilizer, STM.

Good all around lens, Very light to carry around, produces sharp photos at all focal settings. No need to carry along a tripod, Image stabilization works amazingly well at all focal lengths Canon has produced a lens at an affordable price, maybe not a professional lens quality but very close.

  • Awesome for the Price

This lens at first looks and feels like a plastic toy lens but after just a few pics you know you have a Winner. OK so it has a plastic mount but that is no problem because the lens is a feather weight and the photos are close to L glass. The focus is Spot On and Ultra Quit, Best $100 iv'e spent in a long time.
