Jack and Melissa adopted a baby girl nine months ago. She had become the apple of their eyes. However, the birth father never signed the adoption papers and he and his father wanted the baby. What a mess! They gave Jack and Melissa 3 weeks before handing over Angelina. The grandfather was a sitting judge. Three weeks was a short time to prove anything, but Cody, Jack's best friend and detective was going to try. Brian was a good friend also but got killed trying to help. Could they prove any wrong doing on the part of the judge and his son?? Highly recommended book.

  • And that three weeks is tortuous!

    C. J. Box always delivers. This story is different from the adventures of Joe Pickett. It is an intense and suspenseful tale that keeps the reader on edge throughout and forces them to look at the underbelly of the world around them.

  • Timely subject

C J Box has again and again surprised with new and timely subjects transforming the reader into a participant in unwinding realistic events. Hearts are compelled to defend those less fortunate, those less blessed. Cover-ups and denials will not do in a Box thriller. Justice must be served. Astarglen
