Though a bit long and not necessarily technically accurate, plus some lengthy love triangle segments....well ok, enough of the negative "stuff"....this was an exciting movie to me, with great photography/simulations, drama, sadness, twists and more. Best to watch this near 3 hr movie in like a couple of sessions though. I know some negative things were said about this film, but It held my attention. Cast did a good job in my opinion. Also felt sound track was good.
It is a nice story. But lacked in quality. It did show some angles of the attack that were good. The poor sailors trapped in the ships.
Overall performances not so good. I’ll take a good old 40’s or 50’s movie any day.
My great great grandfather was in Pearl Harbor so this movie touches my heart and the acting outstanding ben is one of my favorite actors true love story too if people have not watched this movie they need to
It's hard to put into words how this movie makes a true American feel. Everyone should see this production. I'm particularly fond of the section containing the bravery of Doolittle's Raiders. This is the best part of the movie. Our US military are the best, bravest, men and women anywhere. God has blessed our Country with His favor and protection and we should honor Him and our military. If you love your Country, you'll love this movie. I highly recommend adding it to your personal library and giving it as a gift to a flyer.
This movie came out after Ben Affleck said something Conservative, so the movie was trashed, by all the virtue-signalers who also, unfortunately, think they are movie reviewers. Screw 'em.
This movie, besides being an excellent presentation of the basic facts about Pearl, is a delicatessen of good acting, strong fundamental directing, fabulous spfx, and superior editing.
Buy it. Watch it. Decide for yourself. Well worth your time and a real argument for getting rid of the reviewers at NYT, Wapo, and whatever evil spirit took over Roger Ebert's brain in his 2001 review.
I spent some time trying to find this movie. It is not shown on TV very much any more and we thought Memorial Day would be the perfect time to see it. Of course it was not on TV and looking it up I found it would be on a station that we do not have in June. We watched everything on both discs and the information about how this movie was made was incredulous.
I was hoping for a war story about Pearl Harbor but it was a love story that happened during the time of Pearl harbor. Good story and very engaging but not what I wanted or expected.
