  • OEM part, but difficult to align

Installing of this gasket requires you to apply silicone sealant to the mating surface of the gasket and install it around the perimeter of the glass. That is the easy part. The gasket is built with a little bit of slop in it for expansion I am assuming, so if you pull it tight as you install it, you will be left with excess that will lift off the glass. The second and biggest issue is the angle at which the gasket cures on the glass is CRITICAL. The first time I installed it I assumed the gasket would cure at the proper angle and lay flush on the roof like the original gasket did. Unfortunately the corners install at an upward angle as you press the gasket onto the glass and I didn't notice this until you set it back on the car. I carefully took a razor around the gasket to remove it from the glass. Started the entire process over again and used masking tape to hold the gasket at a slightly downward angle so it would be flush on the roof. I was about 90% successful. One of the corners is still lifted and I have a weight pressing down on it while it is installed in the roof hoping it will sit flush. I was thinking of installing the glass in the roof immediately after applying the sealant, but the gasket is so loose I am afraid it would lift off the glass and not set properly. I really want to know how Nissan installed them.

  • Sunroof seal doesn't fit from the box

Seal requires cutting and modifying in order to fit. On my RPS13 180sx the seal was too long by approx 3 inches and had to be cut down. It also does not conform to the correct angle of the sunroof ie sits raised on corners. This will require manipulation and clamping when setting the glue.. which is very difficult as it barely sits on the lip when trying to set. It will get you out of trouble if you have no seal like me, however don't expect a perfect OEM fit.

  • Not the same as the stock seal at all.

They advertise it as for that vehicle but it is not even the right seal. It is just a generic seal.
