Top performer, great range, floats and easy to use Uniden MHS050.
I was a bit sceptical about this radio before I bought it because I was not sure if the power output would be adequate. BUT THIS IS A TOP LITTLE PERFORMER! I am really pleased with it and the scanner is superb, which means I do not miss calls on other frequencies when I am monitoring only one. The radio is quite small and fits in my top pocket easily and has a good hook attachment so that it cannot fall in the water. But if it does, it floats anyway. I cannot believe the range it achieves. I have been on land testing it below hills and it works very well. I don't know anybody else, but I certainly recommend it. It operates far in excess of my expectations.

Fantastic Product
These were just wot we needed on our boats. They work well and the fact that they will float should they ever get dropped in the water takes a lot of worry out of using them out on the water

Fit for Purpose
Cheap price but does a good job. It is only used as backup so if I was using one on a daily basis I would probably buy a more expensive product. Clarity is good and signal strength is adequate but neither is exceptional. Value for money though.

Handheld VHF doesn't come any better
I purchased the unit after comprehensively researching the market and concluded that the Uniden MHS050 represented the best value and performance for my money. My requirements were to have a portable marine radio for inshore use and as an emergency communications device between ship to ship and ship to shore whilst sailing my sports trimaran. So far, I have been very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend the Uniden to anyone looking for an easy to use, powerful, reliable and portable handheld marine radio.

Great piece of safety equipment...not only for boating breakdowns but also for medical incidents as well...if you're out by yourself in the middle of the lake there won't be an ambulance coming to save you,but the coast guard will make sure that there's one at the ramp if you make it back....God bless our first responders
