This is my first telescope so I don't have anything to compare it to, except online pictures of what we should see through a telescope. So far I am quite pleased. I can see for miles and miles over land. Kinda scary actually, who is watching me? Keeping my blinds closed now. The images that you see through the eyepiece are a mirror image, car license plates are backwards, but are clearly readable. I just had a look at the moon last night and you can make out clear details, even shadowing, using any of the lenses that came with the kit. I am going to rig up a web cam type set up over the eyepiece so I can view the images and capture them on my laptop. Then the mirror image thing is easily corrected. The set up is easy. The tripod is sturdy. The red dot spotting scope works perfectly to help you line up what you want to focus in on. I have so far only skimmed through the instructions and I was exploring, overland and stars, within a couple of hours. No doubt the capabilities go further than I will use. I didn't really know what to buy, online research said, for me this type would be best, and after hesitation and more looking, I finally pulled the trigger. I'm happy I did, and I could recommend this telescope. Especially for an occasional semi serious user, who doesn't want to spend a fortune, but doesn't want a cheap and useless department store telescope. I hope this helps you out.

  • Disappointment

I only received half of the package. I didn't receive the eye pieces and lens covers. The reason why I brought this was for a 50th birthday and was disappointed when I received it.
