  • Awesome Camera

I can do without the mini-tripod and mini backpack, but the rest of it is great for starting photographers. The price is about right on this one. The lens is pretty good to get started with, and the full frame/APS-C capability allows for the use of much less expensive lenses to be adapted to it. It's a great camera, and takes decent video. It has a high ISO setting, but starts getting noisy around 1200, and takes photos in RAW format; also JPEG, but who wants that? I ended up getting a new bag for it, and some spare batteries(they die fast), but other than that it's a nice package. If you want to take serious photos and pretty good video, this is possibly the more affordable way to go. It'll get the job done admirably until you're ready to upgrade to something in the $2000+ range.

  • Worth every penny!

This is a great camera and practically effortless to use right out of the box. The screen is nice and big and the camera feels great in your hand. The weight is just about right and the controls are easy to navigate. The 28-70mm lens is good for beginners. The battery is holding a decent charge and it doesn't take too long to get a full charge. Switching from 35mm film to a DSLR has been moderately smooth and I still feel like this camera is giving me enough control over the images. Overall, I'm quite happy with this purchase.

  • Sony A7 - an astounding product in a compact package

As an experienced long time amateur photographer, I have witnessed and used the best of what was available at a price level that I could afford at various stages of my life. This experience reaches back to the early 1950's, and includes all the various designs for 35mm film cameras, as well as medium format types. Early digital was not up to the quality of the best film cameras, as Leica, Nikon, Canon, etc., and I have used most of these. After the A77 Sony, I was converted to digital. Recently, I downsized to the smaller mirrorless types, and have had a variety of them, all getting better with each new model. The A7 that I have recently acquired via ebay, has topped everything that preceded this review. For it's size, the full frame format produces astounding quality, and makes it so easy to achieve professional results, as compared to the old days. This camera is a marvel, and my recent trip to Glacier National Park in Montana, has yielded some of the best images that I have taken as compared to four other trips to that special place. Sure, I have the experience, and the practiced eye from 60 years of capturing images, but the camera facilitates the task in so many ways, that it frees up the photographer to concentrate on their intuitive abilities.

  • Fantastic Camera!!!!

I sold retail photo equipment for 5 years just when digital technology started, so I’m more familiar with 35mm SLRs, but this unit is so easy use!!! The weight is perfectly balanced, and the size is just right for my hands. Most controls are well placed ergonomically. So far I’m very pleased!!! The cost is pretty high but I love the camera so it’s worth it!!!!!

  • Lightweight, easy to use with good features.

I want to say big thanks to Nori and the team at Japan Express. I received the camera just over a week ago although have yet to put it into use. Japan Express changed the settings from Japanese to English within a week and I received the camera in excellent condition with spare battery pack within two weeks of purchase. Communication was excellent through eBay. I have been keen to purchase the Alpha 2, deliberating for over a year now. I'm sure I can expect to be happy with the purchase. I was a little disappointed not to receive a strap or carry bag as originally advertised but nevertheless more than pleased with the purchase and looking forward to seeing the results during my upcoming winter travels.

  • Looks And Works As Good As New

So far, seems to be working ok. Will use all different features and settings to make sure everything is up to par. This camera has very good reviews and a new one is really expensive, but with luck this preowned item will be a good buy, especially costing seven to eight hundred dollars less that new. Time will tell.

  • Affordable Full Frame Camera With Great Features

Mirrorless technology provides fast image composition. Electronic view finder allows direct preview of the actual image as exposure is set. With adapters, thousands of manual focus lenses, including vintage film lenses, can be used. Manual focus of these lenses is an great way to learn the effect of the variables that determine image quality.

  • Stunning Image Quality, Great Colour Sciene

I recently picked up the A5100 and was pleased enough with the experience I bought another and this camera. Who doesn't need 3 run and guns! At once. The cameras are actually for a streaming setup I'm putting together, fun stuff. Truth be told though, after shooting a bit on the A5100 I yearned for more, the A7 II has satisfied that wonderfully. I will have to get a longer lens though, 70mm just isn't enough zoom. I bought an extra 24-70 for one of the A5100s, and it's 36-105 with the crop, is a pretty nice range. Perhaps a 24-200 or something will be the next purchase? Who knows.

  • Great Camera!

I was shooting with a Nikon D5000...it was time for a replacement. The Sony a7II is great! Lots of dials and buttons that I can customize. I love that what you see in the viewfinder is what your image is going to look like. I still use the light meter to be sure my exposure will be correct, but it is really handy to see what the changes you make to the exposure will have on the image before you click the shutter. The focus system is superior to what I had, but it is a little slow compared to newer dslr systems. But it is working well for me! Using a mirrorless system has been a great experience! It is fun to use, easy to carry, and can make stunning images!

  • Lightweight and effective

Camera is very effective for its weight and size. Easy to hold and quality through pictures and video is amazing. Would upgrade if I had the money but the A7 is worth it as well.
