Great option to a wired connection

So much better than running wires from a set top box to a tv monitor. Doesn't seem to affect the quality of the picture or sound. Gave up on the mechanism enabling the remote control to be pointed at the tv rather than the set top box. It worked but too often required repeated attempts to change channels etc. Just easier to point the remote at the set top box.

  • Top critical review

Good product but the range/distance is poor

The ideas great and it isn’t too bad to set up but the range is average. My one is set up literally 3 Meterd from my other tv on the other side of the wall and it only just picks it up and is very crackley if I I move it half a meter further from range.

  • I recommend this unit.

I had the older type with a lower transmission frequency for maybe 5 years...until the transmitter failed. I think the picture is a little better on the new one, but the signal reach is similar. Because the sweet spot for the transmitter was not near enough to the set top box, I had to cut the remote control sender cable and add 2 metres to it. Thankfully it still works well so I can change channels with the remote control via the receiver. I bought the transmitter/receiver first and set it all up to make sure it worked properly....and then bought a second receiver for another room in my house (I bought a full set of transmitter/receiver....so I have a spare transmitter for the future, if a transmitter should fail....and it did not cost much more).

  • Easy set up, weak reception

The item is pretty easy to set up and the extended IR is fantastic. However the reception on this device is horrible! 2 to 3 meters, with a thin wall, just barely makes it. Time to time there is slight crackling. On the plus side, it does not consume a lot of power. Overall, it is OK.

  • Good Product - very happy

This 5.8gz Digitech Sender/Receiver is so much better than my 10 year old one. Now there's no annoying static interference.

  • Works better than I expected, and remote extender is great.

Does what is supposed to do. Now I can watch TV at the back of the house - no aerial leads to run down the floor. Has remote extender (you have to provide your own remote unit) that works well. - Change channels, switch main TV on or off from back room. Very happy with it.

  • Compact easy to use

I found this product compact and easy to use. Worked first time straight out of the box, you should not have trouble making it work if you follow instructions carefully. Reception is good because at 5.8GHz doesn't get interference from WiFi, cordless phones and other remote devices around the home that tend to operate around 2.4GHz that can mess with signals. Can get minor interference depending if not set up in good line of site. So with a bit of adjusting you can overcome this and get great results. For the money it is good value and a good way to send signals from one TV location to another, especially for Foxtel IQ2 without the cost of paying for another fox output. I did have trouble with the foxtel remote control not working in the second room using the digitech boxes to communicate, but it's probably me missing a step somewhere. But I mainly have foxtel for sport so if I set the Foxtel channel up from the main room I can watch footy or car racing in the other room which is about 30 metres away no problem and they generally go for a few hours so you don't need the remote anyway once everything is setup from the main room. Good luck and enjoy the product.

  • Works well, good value.

I bought this item not really expecting it to work well but was pleasantly surprised. The instructions were easy to follow and set up once you realise the two units are not the same. There is a transmitter and receiver. Also the inclusion of the infra red sensor that you put near the sensor on the foxtel box (mine is an iQ2) allows you to use the telstra remote from the other TV. The positioning of the units is fairly critical to get a good signal and small movements seem to make a big difference in picture quality. Mine works to a room 15 meters away through several walls.

  • its ok not the best where is to many walls tho

This product is fine where is not to many walls in the house it was easy to set up but like i said it losses signal soon as someone pass it by needs to be in the higher place to work properly.

  • Comparatively cheap but will not transmit anywhere near 60 meters as advertised.

One of the cheapest on the market but definitely does not transmit and receive over a distance of 60 meters as stated on the packaging. Line of sight 25 meters at best. If you are lucky it might transmit and receive from one room to the next around a corner.
