Great replacement for an older Foredom controller
The old "carbon pile" controller for my Foredom died. I found this one that was listed as compatible with my motor series (I believe it'll work with any of the AC/DC brushed motors, which is pretty much all of them - check the compatibility list to be sure). It arrived quickly and works great. I assume it's using a modern electronic control circuit and because those are much more efficient at lower speeds, the Foredom has better power and smoothness of control at lower speeds. It also seems to have gained a bit in top speed. I'm sure that the old controller was no longer supplying all the current the motor could handle. It's a Foredom brand with a warrantee, and while it's not all steel like the old one, it seems well made. The cords _are_ just a bit shorter than the originals, so I've needed to do a bit of rearranging to get everything connected. Even if your older carbon pile controller is still working, the improvement in performance from the FCT-1 may be worth upgrading, and certainly it's the way to go for replacing one that failed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Foredom quality
Bought this to replace a low quality foot pedal that came with a flex shaft tool. It is much better quality. Has good texture on the pedal so the foot wont slide off as easy. The plastic is a little slippery but doesn't affect it's use. I may add anti-skid tape but it isn't really necessary. The cords have plenty of length.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

a really excelent replacement for older models
