Easy to use hardline connection with poor latency. Gaming performance worse than Wifi.
Very easy to connect. Literally, plug in both adapters and press the button on the side. Done.
The performance in my house with 1980's wiring wasn't stellar. I was hoping for better bandwidth and more consistent ping times but ended up with more lag using the AV2000 compared to my 5Ghz wireless N USB adapter.
For reference:
ASUS USB-N53 wireless adapter is able to ping my router through a Ubiquiti AP in less than 1ms. The same ping using the AV2000 would take typically 8ms. Download speeds with the 5Ghz USB-N53 are typically greater than 110mbps but only around 90-100mbps with the AV2000.
YMMV since powerline ethernet depends on the wiring of your house and the interference of other electrical appliances. It wasn't a good fit for me, but might be perfect for you.
Had previously purchased two exact units for use in our Church. They work flawlessly. Purchased this unit to extend our internet service even further throughout the Church. Thus far, it too, is working flawlessly.
Ended up being much slower than my wifi. I was only able to stream youtube at 1080p 60 FPS to my LG C4 using this, while I was able to stream 4k HDR 60 FPS over my wifi. The internet was also very stuttered over this device.
