Best purchase i've made
I spent a lot of time looking for a great watch to put on my wrist. I had typically not worn watches, primarily because they never appealed to me or my sense of fashion. I chose the Invicta 6981 Black and Gold specifically because it looked large and classy. I wasn't going for an over-the-top look, but this watch looks perfectly scaled on my relatively large wrists. The black plastic and metal with the gold accents, some brushed, some shiny, always draw my eyes to it. The face itself is clean and easy to read, but intricate enough to hold your gaze, if you are into the finer details like I am. The watch is simple to set, it's mechanical so you never need to wind it or change batteries. It's features are easy to use, like the stop watch and setting the time and date. The alarm is a bit more intricate, but following the directions that come with it should get you through the process. The warranty is fair and the extended one is all encompassing. Overall - I give this watch a 9/10, mostly because I got it on sale, 75% off. Beautiful watch
I've not tested its seal beyond the shower, but it went through that much just fine. Meanwhile, it is the largest men's wristwatch I have worn, but it is not too large (it is "prominent), it is accurate, and it is certainly the most beautiful and impressive watch that I have ever owned. As they say about appearance, it is only skin deep, so don't bang this one about if you want it to stay pretty; its enamel is thin, says a very small scratch on the index ring that I managed to pick up in the month that I have worn it. Other than that one, barely visible thing, it still looks as if it was unpacked only yesterday. The price was good, it works well, and it is delightful to look at, so that is all very good. Also, the index dial actually turns and is usable. Hopefully, I will be able to try it out on some dives later this year and have no salt or leakage issues -- it performs very well, so far. I liked very much, maybe the strap, I had to change it 1 year after I bought it, and it was really expensive, almost the same watch price, so bought a generic one, and it works fine, even at the begining it was a pretty dificult to change and install it. Great watch for the money!
This watch is amazing! I have probably around 20 watches but since I bought this watch I have worn it every day and rarely wear anything else. I get compliments on this watch constantly. Last week I had the opportunity to meet Tony Orlando (the singer from the 70s, Tony Orlando and Dawn). I wear my watch on my right wrist and when he shook my hand he rolled my wrist over, pointed to the watch and said, "That's a really nice watch!" This is actually my second identical watch. The band on the first one I bought cracked after many months of wearing it everyday. I was going to replace the band but a new band was $69 and a new watch was only $30 more at $99 so I just bought another watch. This is a big watch and feels and looks great for a bigger guy. Since I got this all my other "normal" guy-sized watches feel too small on my wrist and don't look right to me. This watch based upon the website pics and the reviews that I read is everything it is supposed to be and more. It is a large watch, but for those familiar with these types of watched it is to be expected. It does not overwhelm one's wrist, it's just a bit larger and heavier [you get used to it quickly...I didn't even notice it once I put it on]... It is a style of watch that is not going to be overlooked....it is supposed to "catch one's eye"...it does that in impressive fashion. I'm absolutely, 100% pleased/satisfied with my purchase.
