Handy device.
If you get one of these at a good price good. If you have to pay full retail, there are better devices at better prices. I get good transfer rates, easy to install and setup. Handy to move from computer to computer. Just have the drivers install file on a flash drive. The base and extension really help keep the device out of the way. I have two of them. Works but not to its potential
I can't use the 5ghz because it's not in the same room: signal drops. Regular bandwidth is fine. Every time I turn on Windows 7 it says it would run faster in a USB 3.0 port but that's what I have it plugged into. Not really sure what I'm doing wrong here. I have an older Netgear WMDA4000 and it gives the same issues with the 5Ghz bandwidth. (Both PCs are about 15ft away from the router, in a different room.) Note: 5Ghz is just a different frequency and although it can be faster don't rely on it if your wifi if the adapter isn't close to it or in the same room. My iPhones can run the signal from anywhere but everything else constantly drops the 5ghz signal. Maybe it doesn't like my Apple AirPort Extreme? Great Device
I was having a bit of trouble with my WIFI connection so decided to ge something different. The Netgear AC1200 filled that need to perfection. Just plugged it into a USB slot ran the disc and the thing worked perfectly. For the heck of it I hooked it up to my other two devices and it worked great with them also (laptops). This thing has a high gain antenna attached but I have not checked that out since the router is only about 12 feet over my head in an upstairs room. I have no cons to add to this because I have seen nor ran in to any. So if you need a good WIFI adapter you may just want to check this one out before you buy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great stick for the price
Good stick, only about 20 feet away from my router in a closed off room and got a stable connection. One problem I noticed with my stick, this usually happens once or twice an hour, all internet activity will halt for a second. Plug and play
This WiFi adapter works perfectly. I pulled it out of the box and plugged it into my computer and immediately my computer was online. It was that simple. There was no setup process for me. I plugged it in and internet pages began loading. The receive/ transmit says 600/144 (mbps) which is a bit slower than if it were connected to a cat 5 Ethernet plug, but that is to be expected. I’m watching Netflix downloading multiple files at a time and it’s doin it’s thing. If all my equipment ran like that I would be a happy man.

Fast connection now
