4l60 Z-pak
These clutches are pretty good. No doubt. I’ve used them before and this is a second go around. Unfortunately the 4l60 is a pretty poorly designed unit. The input drum that houses this specific clutch pack isn’t strong enough to hold the power these clutches are capable of. My recommendation, if you’re really serious about building a 4l60, is to buy the upgraded input drum by sonnax. It has a bolt on plate to hold everything rather than a flimsy c-clip. With that being said I can personally say that using a stock input drum I have hauled over 2,300 lbs of shingles in the bed of a single cab pick up. Definitely overloaded the suspension. I was using stock accumulators and a corvette servo. The higher stall probably didn’t help the temperatures in the transmission, but this z-pak took the beating. I reached about 70 mph for most of a 36 mile trip. Twice. Back to back. If I had the newer drum I’d probably have a lot better longevity with the unit. I have tried pinless accumulators, a super servo, the ultra wide band, and upgraded pistons. Replace the input drum. If you don’t you’ll end up buying another set of frictions. But all in all these are a good “go to” affordable upgrade.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
