He was right!
As a kid 50+ yrs ago, Grandpa always told me I couldn't afford cheap tools. At the time it seemed odd, but.... he was right! A few years back I bought a cheaper, made in China, but with a known major US brand name, rotary tool. It was cheap, always an issue to use, and it didn't last. Now I replaced the cheap tool with this Dremel, and night and day difference. Why didn't I buy this the first time and save some money. this is one time you should buy generic: the mandrills are aluminum. That's what put me in the market to buy new ones: the original one in the Dremel was aluminum. At 30,000 RPM? When you need to use a collet, other than the standard 1/8", it's a good idea to have the alternatives ready. This kit is perfect! OEM quality, includes the other 3 collet sizes for a Dremel tool and the standard 1/8" collet. If you ever lose or break the 1/8" collet, you already have a replacement available. You also get an additional nut, which again is nice if you lose the original.
