couple cons but not a bad unit
Good unit has no external lights to indicate power or wifi is one con and internal wifi unit could be a bit better for signal pick up strength less than 10ft from router works great more than that though has issues staying connected at times. Great Apps
First of all I really like the design and the apps on the Blu ray player. I was really excited when I first opened it and saw the way it looked. When I initially plugged it in and had a smooth interface with the apps at the bottom, and everything that I knew about Netflix Vudu YouTube Pandora and some extra ones that I had not heard of where you can get actually watch free movies that was a plus. The only thing is the Blu ray DVD player part does not work. It worked briefly when I first put in the DVD after I first got it but the next day it would not work at all an error message keeps on popping up. & I know that my DVDs work because they are brand new because I just got them from the Disney Movie Club. The only reason I did not send this Blu ray player back is because of the apps and it's so good for that I just figured I'd go ahead and buy a regular DVD player since that function is not working on this device. Other than that everything else was great! I just didn't want to go through the hassle of having to pay for shipping and returning the device and getting a new one I hope this helps anyone for buying a refurbished device thank you. Also it does get frozen sometimes and I'll have to unplug it and then plug it back in just to finish watching Netflix but other than that I haven't had any other problems with it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Pretty Good Device
It is a pretty good device. I wish u could add apps to it. The remote should have a backlight on the the front panel so u can see buttons in the dark. It should have had a power light on console so u will know if it is on or not. I like the ability to watch Netflix and the DVD quality is good. Good DVD/Blue-ray player for the cost
I have played three movies only and so far there have been no problems from start to finish. The drawer opens and closes with the remote and picture quality has been good. Unlike others seeking for the ultimate viewing quality, I settle for what I get on my 1080p TV. I did not give a negative for the design since the lack of a light is not a big issue for me; however, it has been reported by others and it should have come with it. I called my provider to assist me with the set up due to a misunderstanding of the instructions. The setup then went smoothly. I bought an extra HDMI cable so that I had one for the service provider and HDMI 2 for the DVD player. All I have to do now to play my movies is to click on INPUT and switch to HDMI 2 and back to 1 when I am done. For those whose TVs only have one HDMI option, there are low cost splitter gadgets available. This is a limited review since I am not tech savvy, have had the player for a short time, and have used it only three times. I would buy it again.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Originally bought product to get Netflix, wouldn't work except to play DVD's. Sent back to be "fixed"- worked for about a week,and yet again, will only play the DVDs! Called Comcast representative that informed me he also had same issue's with this brand of blu-ray player! Not happy at all. Spend a few dollars more
I bought this for my girlfriend to essentially turn her tv into a smart tv by streaming. I have a higher quality Samsung smart blu ray and it's not bad. This one stinks in comparison. Slow to turn on (no power light so you don't even know if it's working at all at first) and slow to function. Bad wifi antennae manning very poor signal pick up. Works Fine Great Product
Just bought this to replace another that finally quit. Samsung products seem very strong and although the load time could be quicker, The Picture is awesome. The DVD Quality is increased Greatly, close to Blu Ray standards. The WIFI works fine. For an inexpensive Player this one does everything necessary to give you a positive Viewing experience. I see people complaining about and on / off light but personally I never thought it was necessary. I turn my machine off when not in use so I know it's not on light or not. Good compact machine!
The only disappointment is the Blu-ray movies are really not much better than regular DVDs so now that I have a Blu-ray player, I am disappointed with the additional costs of the Blu-ray DVDs and the fact I had to buy an additional player to view them. This player works just great and is easy to use and comes with a very convenient remote control. If the Blu-ray movies were of better quality, I would be ecstatic, but since they are not superior as the manufacturers claim, I feel I wasted my money in buying Blu-ray DVDs and then having to purchase an additional player. My regular DVD players work great and also have great quality.
