Just what my iMac needed!
I was amazed to find a USB hub so compatible and aesthetically tuned to my new iMac. It actually looks like it was designed by Apple. This hub is USB 3, but is downward compatible. Because it is actually attached to the iMac and not sitting on the desktop, it neatly arranges all the USB connections so they do not present themselves as clutter on your desktop. The hub, made by Sabrent is actually made of Aluminum in a texture to match the imac. I understand that they are switching over to a matching plastic and once the Aluminum ones are gone, they will no longer be available, so I purchased mine as soon as I learned that in the future they would all be plastic. I have no real negative criticism of this hub. Unlike other brands that try to accomplish the same look, this hub plugs into one of the USB slots on the back of the iMac and is held firmly in place using four firm, but flexible rubberized tabs in front that insert into the air intake slots along the bottom front of the frame on the iMac. I was concerned that blocking the air intake would cause my iMac to overheat, but the Sabrent leaves a small gap for air to still get into the slots. Works great, looks great, and performs great! Does not work
This hub does not recognize many usb devices including flash drives. Even using Sabrent AC adapter, it is unable to provide enough power to use an Apple external drive. And it is fiddly to install and remove. Very disappointed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Hub for the Mac

Perfect for my iMac
This hub looks and works great. The only thing I noticed later was that the little white eject buttons shown in the picture is not actually on the device and there is no other features other than extending the number of ports you have available. It's a perfect fit for my iMac 27" and sits nicely under the screen. It's convenient and brings your USB ports to the front so you don't have to keep turning your monitor to get to the ports on the back of it. The downside to this product is when you go to insert your USB cable to have to hold the device with your hand; otherwise, it will push it hub out of the port on the back of the iMac.
