By using the different heads you can use 1 to loosen the tissue up then change to the more pointed one to go deeper or the wheel to break up any adhesions, scar tissue etc. Overall great tool. I also use it on my performance horses. They love it. Will have to get another for us because this one is for them now. Upon receipt of this item, I discovered that its highest setting is the only one that may be effective. However, when highest setting is engaged, the pulse action takes on a "jerking" motion that is both annoying & highly uncomfortable, which leaves room for doubt as to whether I made a wise choice regarding this purchase.
