Certainly better than the alternatives but a good safe product
We bought this product because the previous one we used was recalled due to it's ability to cause Cancer (Ranitidine). This store brand offers value in terms of price. It is also among the smallest of the pills I have ever seen. This works well for those of you who can't or won't swallow a larger pill. Famotidine vs prescription Xantac or it's generic Ranitidine
I take 2 pills (20mg each) 12 hours apart. 1 at noon and 1 before bed.Most of the time it does the job along with Omeprazole 20mg also twice daily. But on occasion I still get heartburn in the morning 6-7 hours after taking a pill. To anyone taking this, I would recommend NOT eating or drinking to excess after 8pm. Diet is most important. Even with these medications, you cannot eat everything with abandon, and certainly not late in the evening. This medication is on a par with the discontinued med. Ranitidine (Xantac) 300mg. Virtually no difference in effectiveness. but there is one in the dosage obviously. Depending on where or how you purchase this product, there can be a large difference in cost.
