    Durable, Essential Kitchen Spinner

    Another quality OXO item. This salad spinner removes water from lettuce and other greens, or any such food that fits inside of it. By removing water from freshly washed greens, their longevity is elevated. Spinner works to first remove water and then to act as storage container. I have another older model that is still going after 15 years of service. The plastic is not that type that fails. The spinner's plastic is no more brittle than it was when I bought it, and it has not cracked nor discolored.

    How good is something if you don't use it.

    It works great, especially if you like to wash the pesticides off your vegetables. The problem is finding the space to store it and washing it after every use. Now that Organics are becoming more prevalent I would rather just buy them and rinse them. Of course then you are taking someone else's word that they are pesticide free.

    SOGGY SALADS NO MORE

    Because I'm Diabetic, I have to watch my weight. That means I need to eat more vegetabes and fruits and not the sugary, high calorie, high carb food that is so prevalent in today's fast-food restaurants and grocery stores. I always wash my vegetables and fruits before cooking or eating them raw and when making a salad, the OXO Salad Spinner is fast and fantastic! I saw "Cook's Country" and they recommended this product. I agree, it is the best.

    Great design--beats OXO "update" hands down

    SOOOO much better than the new design. I got a "new" one for Christmas and was able to side-by-side compare them. The old one fits 3 heads of romaine hearts, spins the lettuce enough so that it throws it to the outside of the bowl with centrifical force and within 2-3 times spinning, get ALL the water off. The new one only fits 2 heads and doesn't even have enough UMPH to move the lettuce--and it's still wet...you spin, and spin, and spin... So, I opted for getting a good "old" used one instead of the new JUNK that doesn't DRY the lettuce.

    Works great

    It cannot be used for whole head of lettuce. You need to tear lettuce, rinse and spin. I spin 4-5 times and place lettuce in a zip top bag with a paper towel or 2. Squeeze all of the air out of bag and it is ready to eat and fresher than pre-bagged lettuce. No more wasting a bunch of paper towels to dry lettuce. Can also be used for other vegetables that you can cut up and store, broccoli, string beans.

    Great Quality and Really Big!

    Love this salad spinner. It is really big so I can get a lot of salad greens washed at one time. The quality is excellent. It has a rubber ring on the bottom to keep it from moving when you're using it. My old spinner did whirl around faster than this one and I think my greens got a bit dryer, but the OXO gets the job done. Would recommend it to anyone needing a large salad spinner.
