  • Strong and Easy to Set-up and Manage. Exceptional User Interface for Non-professionals.

The Synology RT 2600 AC may not be the fastest dual -WAN wireless router but it is the most complete and easiest to use for non-network users. The heart and strength of this router is its user interface. If one can use Windows or Mac OS then then managing the RT 2600 AC with the Synology Router Management (SRM) software is just as easy. For those who wish to take advantage of this router's many networking features but aren't learned in networking this is as good as it gets. Several add-on software modules are available for specific functions. The only limitation is the small number of LAN ethernet ports but if you have lots of wired devices a simple inexpensive wired switch is your friend. Couple the RT 2600 AC with one or more Synology MR 2200AC units to establish a good strong mesh system. Essentially plug them in, allow them to link up, and done.

  • Very good router excellent wifi in congested area

I purchased this router when my old NETGEAR 3700 decided it can no longer handle the Wi-Fi traffic in my neighborhood and scanned channels so often I could no longer get a connection for any of my 2.4 gigahertz devices such as cameras that were not on the wired Network. This unit provides an excellent Wi-Fi coverage on both bands, even in areas that I could not reach before like a detached car garage, this mind you with the router in my basement. The SRM is highly configurable in its simplest form, even a novice can use it. However novice users Also may find the advanced features very confusing without a strong Networking background. I have found a few bugs in the firewall application, otherwise known as threat prevention. It also uncovered some back doors which probably exist in most cheap IP cameras on the market that you can buy here on eBay. It reported Brute Force attacks specifically Tomcat on a very popular White round $38 IP camera with pan tilt for indoor use that you see here commonly, namely a tenvis. It's hard to tell if it's just a false alarm but it raises suspicions on the device. If I lived in in the area with younger more savvier users I probably would have removed it from the network but since I live in an area where most of the surrounding neighbors are older folks I just created a rule to allow the traffic, and blocked all the other ports that it would not need, although most likely the embedding was in one of the ports that would need. Since I plan on replacing it anyways it's no big deal but I found threat prevention did catch some traffic coming out of China hitting the IP address of the router within an hour of installation also caught another threat out of Russia. I like the ability to customize the start screen as well that's something a little bit different, I would like to see a better wired connection list, my static devices we're very difficult to locate. A simpler interface other than just DHCP client connect would be very helpful it took about 10 minutes to display the statics after reboot even an unknown Mac address would have been nice. Since I could have easily found my multiple devices throw a Mac vendor search. Overall with about six or eight devices it took about an hour to get everything running. It appears the router updates must be done sequentially, I would prefer a restore function via passive FTP to do it all in one shot instead of having to upgrade multiple times which took a little bit of that time. Overall on a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a solid nine it missed that point just for some of the complaints I listed

  • Enterprise quality and feature set, at a great value.

Having owned several of the low quality, $50 and under routers from D-Link and Netgear, this was my first router that I've ever owned that I went for major features and supposed excellent quality. I must say I am not disappointed, and the reviews of this elsewhere online have been true. The operating system and associated features of this router are incredible for homeschooling, telecommuting, gaming, and lots of users. I work from home (on WiFi) and our four children use Chromebooks and tablets throughout the day. The Safe Controls that are part of the SRM OS on this router is incredibly easy to setup, and very configurable to keep children online. The app to monitor/configure the router is easy on the eyes, and quite easy to use. I am excited to know that I can expand with mesh access points as time goes on. I could drone on, but this device is extremely impressive. It has WPA3 on it so in that way it's future-proofed since most new devices still don't have WPA3. It is a high quality item, that is a good value for the price paid.

  • This router is a beast

The Synology RT2600ac router is one incredible wifi machine. A 4x4 AC wifi router with great, graphical NAS-level operating system and functionality.. Without question this is my go-to router at the moment. It's well supported with frequent updates, has a fantastic interface, and offers plenty of useful features.

  • Great Product

Purchased this router to provide extended range throughout our house and on our deck. Our previous router could not do this. The Synology router worked as advertised and now we have access in every room and outside. Setup took just a few minutes. There are a lot of features to customize it that were far more than routers of same price. Great product.

  • Solid Router with great features

I've installed several routers; this was one of the easiest to get up and working. It has several advanced features, including an easy to use operating system, many apps that can be downloaded, supports dual WAN, and has VPN support. I bought two of the routers and will use themI to set up a site-to-site VPN.

  • Easily competes with routers twice the price. Excellent hardware and software quality.

I have 2 of these. This router easily competes with $400+ routers from other manufacturers. Like other Synology products the software is high-quality and easy to use - it's designed like a computer desktop. The router is great for families or small offices with lots of connected devices and streaming. The mesh feature makes it easy to extend, though I was able to replace 2 cheaper routers I was using to cover our home with one RT2600ac due to the removable antennas. I have the router in a wood cabinet and could easily relocate the removable antennas outside the cabinet using short, cheap co-ax cables.

  • Stable and Powerful WiFi

Had a backyard wifi camera that kept going offline. I had tried several different wifi routers before I read about the Synology. Put in the Synology and it solved the problem immediately. This is the strongest and most stable wifi signal I have found. The software that runs the router is also amazingly easy to use and understand. Great Product!
