The lens is sharp, pictures pull from the 4K video is very good. Example the white flower and the little girl on the horse. The camera powers up very quickley, you should not miss any pictures. Only have had it for 2 weeks want to check how it will do at night video and photography. than I will update my score to see if it goes up to a 5 are stays the same. If you have never used a zoom by wire camera before it will take you a little time to get good at zooming in and out smoothy, and getting your frameing right.
I bought the Panasonic Lumix FZ 1000 II because I wanted a camera which was better than my Sony RZ100 point n shoot. I opted to pay a bit more for the FZ1000 II vs. the FZ1000 cause the FZ 1000 has been out since 2014 and the II version was released in spring 2019. I can only say the pictures I"ve taken have been amazing...I've captured great sports shots as well as zoom shots. I can take shots of people while looking in the sun without there being shadows all over the people. And, most of all...the Lumix cameras are very intuitive. I found Sony not to be as intuitive to use. My only bang against this camera is the battery life. Fortunately, I recently purchased a separate battery charger and two more batteries, so hopefully, when out n about, I never run out of battery.
Good camera for someone with big hands.... Fits very well.
Although I am a beginner, I found the instructions, and overall operation of the camera very easy to follow. The learning curve for this camera is not difficult at all.
