It has the essentials of a practice rig with all the tone and features of a professional one. Plus, the limited edition is finished in a distinctive deep purple vinyl with a special silver colored plaque ‘Glenn Hughes Limited Edition’.
Being a beginner I’m not certain of my qualifications to review this product but on the other hand I don’t have the same expectations of a more seasoned musician. I’d read a number of reviews which helped me choose this amp. Some say it’s not loud enough, some talk about EM noise which I assume means electro magnetic. I don’t have much playing experience but I did spend 43+ years behind the scenes as a stage technician. I don’t find this amp to be any noisier than others depending on your proximity to the amp itself and it’s plenty loud enough for my purposes. The Orange Crush 50 is far superior to the amp I was using and the limited edition purple looks great. I love the irony of a purple amp being called orange, it’s the little things. The amp has made my entry level bass guitar sound like a completely different instrument and in fact probably makes it sound a little more like it’s supposed to. The instructions are easy to understand and the amp is user friendly. I have the amp sitting on a table and I play seated so if I could change one thing I’d put all the controls on the front instead of the top. I’d probably play with the knobs a little more often to hear what the amp truly does and I might take more advantage of the built in tuner since like my playing habit I tune sitting down. All in all I love this amp and have no regrets in choosing it. I can’t wait to upgrade my bass guitar to see where that takes me next.
