  • Excellent!

Borgeson has a reputation that goes back decades that is nothing short of excellent. Originally my build didn't collapse, which always was a concern, but at least it had an upper U-joint. That was a little better than the original Chevy LUV unit that is just a 1" OD spear from box to wheel. When it came time to not only change columns for a tilt, it was time to change lower shafts too... and Borgeson had just what I needed that was simple yet strong. Some may complain about the prices of their products, but what price can you put on safety? The made in China knockoffs are DANGEROUS! So much so the HAMB street rod website has a gov't statement saying so. I did look at Flaming River of which my original lower shaft is, but they've gone way up in price since that purchase. The bling being billet is nice... but for an off road truck, plain ol' steel works just fine. But what's nice too is FR and Borgeson do interchange since I'm using part of the old lower and the steering box U-joint over again. A tip for S10 swaps is to cut a piece of 3/4" DD shaft just long enough to fit inside the S10's shaft, mark it with the U-joint bolt, then drill and tap it. Once inserted, fasten the Borgeson U-joint to it. It makes a sloppy end to end fit 'goot n tight' and vey strong too now that there's something to screw into. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend Borgeson products to anyone.
