The up-and-down-and-up-again story of musician Dewey Cox, whose songs would change a nation. On his rock 'n roll spiral, Cox sleeps with 411 women, marries three times, has 36 kids, stars in his own 70s TV show, collects friends ranging from Elvis to the Beatles to a chimp, and gets addicted to - and then kicks - every drug known to man; but despite it all, Cox grows into a national icon and eventually earns the love of a good woman - longtime backup singer Darlene.

    History of R&R - comedy style!

    Quite funny and will have you alert for all the music references worked into the plot and tunes. Reilly is good and his character models lots of genres, starting with Cash country, then 60 white doo wop, disco, latin, psychedelic, and onward. This 2-disc version has complete takes of all the performances, lots of backstory and outtakes/deleted scenes. You'll have your fill of penis jokes, beginning with our hero's name: Dewey Cox. You'll also get to see quite a few interesting guitars that cycle through the stage scenes. Definitely worth having!
