I'm sticking with Uniden
I've had two previous telephones of the same make and model blown up by lightning and always replaced them with the same, as I like the features. The answering machine is essential for those of us who do not sit by the telephone 24/7 and being corded, the telephone part (but not the answering part) still works during blackouts, too frequent in rural FNQ. The person at the recieving end of the call gets a nice clear signal but at my end i get loads of crackling when i speak. I have to move the phone about 8 inches away from my mouth to avoid the crackling/distortion. Other than that I like it but I cant put up with speaking like that. I wont ever buy another Uniden. Unable to use my new Uniden FB1200 corded phone - due to poor sound quality
