I've Got 6 of These and Love Them

I use them to keep an eye on my home when i'm not around; they have auto-infrared capabilities, so as soon as the sun goes down, i can still see everything quite well. I also appreciate the email alerting that can be set individually for each camera. Best of all is the repeater function - i have the wifi router on one end of the house, and daisy-chain the signal throughout the house. The flexibility in naming your wifi-repeater is convenient for my wife and guests - for example, some of the repeaters are "Front Hallway", "Back Hallway", TV Room, so its very easy for everyone to figure out which wifi is closest. Also convenient is the ability to use the same wifi password for all (or you can use different ones). Camera wise - its great to be able to pan, tilt and zoom. And the sound feature lets you hear what's going on in the vicinity of the camera. Those are the PROS. The CONS are - well, the quality of the picture is definitely NOT HD, but if someone broke into my home, yeah - the quality is good enough to identify and convict. Actually its not really bad, you can see individual snowflakes when its snowing, but its just not HD. Also, i'd love it if the sound were two-way, but hey, for 50.00 on average, you can't complain. These things still sell upwards of $100.00+ in places, so whenever i can pick one up for less than $50.00, its a great deal and adds to my home security system!

Not for you if you are setting up a new system

I bought this camera because I have 4 other ones and didn't want to switch to another manufacturer because I would have to have another different app on my phone. If I were to start over with a new system, I would not buy DLink cameras. They are hard to set up. The response is not very quick. The cameras can't be set up wirelessly except by using an ethernet connection which is not easy since the camera is usually mounted in an isolated area. I have replaced my cams several times already.

  • Feel at home when you're away but not for professional security surveillance

Not recommended if you want a serious security setup but I've been using this for years just to see how the family is doing at home while I'm at work. I also use it to watch over the house while I'm in the home office at night. What's cool is that at work sometimes when i switch to night vision it makes a click sound and the kids can hear it and interact with the cam knowing I'm on the other side. Video quality is average, wide angle is excellent, pan tilt excellent, record average, sound ok, requires good wifi otherwise it'll drive you crazy with weak wifi, the app is useful again requires good connection. Setup is very easy.

  • Security on a budget

This is a great camera! This my 2nd camera that I access through my iPhone D-Link App. There is no cost to the app or usage. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because while using the WiFi setup, it can take a moment to connect or receive command requests when trying to Pan or Tilt the camera. Other then that, the picture is a good quality camera especially for the cost! Once set up, it is a user friendly app! The instructions came in a foreign language pamphlet, however, without having to ask, the seller sent me an email with 2 web links, 1 was the instructions in English and 2 was a YouTube video on how to set up the unit. So that was really nice.

  • quick setup and great camera!

Great Product, I was adding 3 of these to my already existing network. the listing says "international version" and it says its not compatible with the "mydlink app". It is in fact compatible and it works amazing! It works as a network extender as well which is great. I would definitely buy more as setup is for these is as easy as opening the my dlink app, hitting the wps button on my router and the wps button on my dlink camera and confirming which model camera you have on the app. setup is literally 30 seconds

  • No storage capability for video

This camera works well and fairly easy to connect. The PTZ control is fast, picture clear even in infrared mode. Now the not good... not supported by cloud services and does not have SD slot. Camera is only good for live peak ins. Video cannot be saved or stored anywhere. Look elsewhere for better camera.

  • Outdated camera

Got a bargain but the camera couldn't connect to modern wifi and use the current app. Ended up having to use an ethernet hook up instead unless I used an old outdated app that couldn't support my more modern dlink. Still works just the quality is no where near as good as an updated version but I got a bargain I guess. Next time I'll spend a little more.

  • Very pleased

Manually setting up is the easiest way. When I did my second camera it was maybe 5 minutes, and it was a step by step prompt on my phone. 2 things is it has a little delay and I wish it had a memory stick. But for the money it is the best thing going. You can remotely move it up and down and left to right. You can hear what is going on. The motion alerts when using outside is sensitive. I put it on my porch so it is protected. With the WIFI you can move it all over the house all you need is power. So the question is will I get a third............. Maybe or would that make me paranoid

  • D-Link Camera saved life

excellent camera, easy to operate and install. Good value, fabulous customer service/tech support from D-Link, if one has questions or needs help. I have 12 (twelve) of these cameras, all the same, and would not be without these. One saved the life of one of my mares and her foal in 2016 because I could see that there was something not going right.
