Simple Solution
I recently bought some European country flag stickers to go with a display of European shot glasses. The table numbers are 5cm wide the same as the stickers so they can be displayed vertically and moved if reorganisation is required.

Photography hit!
I bought these for photography. I do test shoots where the camera data (EXIF) is not enough. I keep a log of photo settings and use these to label specific shots - the numbers in shot are then removed out in post-processing. Nice small items, 5cm or less whereas alternative are 10cm.
