Lightweight, vortex air motion, 5 year warranty and long history of success in the USA
Pros: This fan blows a hell of a lot of air for something so small. It creates a vortex using the spiral blades instead of pushing air in one direction. Don't listen to people who talk about the noise levels. You won't hear it in a living room with multiple people talking. It is also possible to sleep with it at level 1 speed. Do not buy a Dyson fan if you also have an airconditioner and want to save hundreds of dollars. This works extremely well in an airconditioned room. Cons: It would be nice if it had a more powerful motor. The fourth speed does move a lot of air but in a very large house it has pretty average performance.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Small but powerful
I was still skeptical about the Vornado 660 after hitting the purchase button but all worries have been laid to rest. The fan is a very small little unit for the price, however, it is strong. You can feel the wind beign sucked into the fan to be pushed out again. It is really a 'whole room' circulation fan. Quiet is very subjective. While the fan is on full speed, it sounds like we have our stove's rangehood on. It's not absurdly loud, just noticeable. On lower speeds, I would say it is quiet. Used correctly, an excellent product!
Quite different to the traditional oscillating pedestal fan, this unit is designed to produce a narrow, high-velocity airstream which (if directed correctly) circulates all the air in a room to assist in either heating or cooling. As such, it is NOT 'whisper quiet' especially on the highest speed setting, however the noise is not particularly intrusive or annoying. The fan blades are extremely well balanced, with only the slightest vibration felt through the head even on the highest speed. The head is also perfectly balanced, supported by a semi-circular hoop to allow easy adjustment to direct the airstream upwards for optimal circulation. Whilst it would be possible to use this as a direct personal cooling fan, that's not the purpose for which it was designed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
