Poor signal strength
I bought this acurite weather station to replace a 3 year old acurite station the birds broke the wind cups off. Figuring this new one would be as good as the previous one, I unpacked it and threw the carton away. My bad. With 20% restocking and return freight its not worth returning. I installed the sensor up on the same pole I used previously and placed the monitor in the kitchen, as before, No signal, they wouldn't pair. I took the sensor down and placed it next to the monitor. they work fine. Back up on the pole. No signal. The pole is 60 feet from the house, clear view. The only place I can get a signal is if I prop the monitor up on the window, looking directly at the sensor, thru glass. If I move the monitor 5' to set it on the counter I lose the signal. The signal now has to go thru a wood frame house wall. What good is this weather station if I can't place it in a reasonable place in the house? I also wrote this same note to acurite. I would like to see more than 48 hours of history, wind speed updated more frequently, and a few other things, but that all comes at a price. I am very happy with the device and would buy it again. Very accurate
I have a wood stove that heats my house and controlling the temp and humidity is hard without this device . Accurite weather station
By far the best display and sensor package. No wires to connect. Clean looking high quality display easy to read from a distance. Be sure to check bundles as some will include a smart hub and or a lightning detector included for a little bit more money. Having to buy the upgraded components are much more expensive to buy separately if not included.

I have found no complaints. It seems to be made quite well and the screen is excellent. Everything works as advertised and sets up in minutes,so what's not to like? From the research that I have done ACURITE is the best for the price range, I paid $76 free shipping and no tax and that seems to fair. Now for the real review. One blip on my power in the house and the screen was gone and Acurite does not offer any parts. Their B & W models don't show up and are hard to read if more than a few feet away. AcuRite 5 in 1 weather station
Surprisingly good deal. My second AcuRite product, and first one is still working 7 years later. You can expand this 5 in 1 system with a lightening detector as well as upgrade the solar powered fan on the external unit. But that's not necessary. Nice display, lots of flexibility with what you see, and also setting alarms for various weather situations. I recommend this unit for those who want wind speed and direction, indoor and outdoor temp and humidity. Rain gauge is a nice bonus. I may buy the lightening detector just out of curiosity! Desert use
These are good weather stations, but for me they only last one year due to the intense heat we get in southern New Mexico. But it is reliable, durable and gives out good information.
